Overt Symptoms of Kidney Problems
The numbers alone are enough to make us stop and take notice: Tens of millions of people suffer from kidney and urinary tract diseases. Each year, tens of thousands of these people will succumb to the diseases. Some of the warning signs are hard to miss, though they may be mistaken for symptoms of another disease or illness.
If you have had good health in your lifetime and have not been recently sick, but suddenly are overcome with fatigue, this could be a red flag denoting a problem with the kidneys. Of course, this could also be a symptom of many other conditions, and by itself will not be enough for you to pin-point the cause. However, this overwhelming feeling of tiredness should be enough to get your attention and convince you that a trip to a doctor is in order.
Weakness may also accompany the fatigue. Either of these symptoms by itself can be make every-day tasks difficult. When you combine the two, the result can be debilitating.
Pain in the area of the kidneys may be an even better indicator. This may give you and the doctor a better idea of the organ causing your problems. In some cases, kidney stones develop and when left untreated over an extended period can cause damage to this body part.
If these symptoms are enough to get your attention, here are a few more:
• A burning sensation when you urinate
• Loss of appetite for no apparent reason
• Difficulty concentrating
• Swelling in the ankles, feet and legs
These are some of the more obvious indicators. Do not ignore them. Any health issues that are not attended to right away will have some dire consequences later on. It’s very important that you take these signs very seriously to take care of the illness for good.
